What I’m Wearing:
To me, an abaya is a necessity for Ramadan! They are so easy to wear over your pajamas to Taraweeh and still look chic ;). Here are a few tips to keep in mind when styling your abaya this Ramadan!
- Wear it as an open jacket. This trend is so popular right now! Wearing wide leg pants with a top tucked in underneath is a great way to add modest proportion. Another way to wear it open is to wear a maxi dress underneath! I wore a tan sleeveless maxi dress under this abaya which keeps it super modest while adding more interest.
- Add accessories! A cute pair of heels, lace up pointed flats, a few dainty rings, or even a watch can add a little something to dress up your abaya. If your abaya is traditional black, you could add a pop of color in a small clutch or cross body bag!
- Pick the perfect hijab. Most abayas will come with a matching hijab. I almost never wear the hijab that comes with it! I feel like it’s too matchy-matchy. Classic black is always a good way to go, but you might pick up on other subtle colors in your abaya to wear as your hijab color. Or if its all black, play with colors that you feel most flatters your skin tone! Try warmer colors like peaches, salmon and warm nudes if you have warm toned skin, and cool colors like grays, blues and greens (emerald?!) if you have cool toned skin! Picking the right hijab color for your skin tone is so important! Here are some tips on finding out if you are warm or cool toned here!
I hope these tips were helpful to you! Lots of love <3
